Two Weeks Later.....
What started with a protest by one NFL player has evolved into numerous protests by numerous players in different sports at the professional, collegiate, and high school level.
Colin Kaepernick's individual protest has raised awareness and society's actions have justified Colin's actions, especially in light of what has happened in Tulsa, OK, and Charlotte, NC.
Despite Colin's actions and the level of support he has received, unfortunately there are still people that do not understand the protest actions nor the reasons behind the protest. In the world of sports, comments from Mike Ditka, Bobby Knight, and especially comments from Steve Clevenger just shows how out of touch people can be with the issues we are facing today. Not just out of touch, but they are sharing views that are ignorant, close-minded, and hypocritical.
This protest isn't going away soon; it needs to stay in the minds of all Americans, and help pave the way for more dialogue and discussion on the best way to move forward in our communities, towns, and cities regarding equality and justice in law enforcement. Not just dialogue and discussion, but accountability and trust.
